Golf Rankings for PGA Championship

1. Tiger Woods [Yahoo Class C]

Woods is coming off a dominating victory in last week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone. Tiger finished T39 in the 2003 PGA Championship, the last time the event was held at Oak Hill. Woods claimed the season’s final major back in the 2006 and again in 2007. Tiger currently ranks first in both scoring average and All-Around Ranking. He is also second in birdie average and eighth in total driving.

2. Phil Mickelson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #24

Mickelson placed T23 at Oak Hill in the 2003 PGA Championship at Oak Hill prior to winning the ‘05 PGA. Lefty is coming off a T21 at Firestone and a victory in last month’s Open Championship. Mickelson ranks first in birdie average, eighth in both scoring average and strokes gained-putting. Phil is also good for 12th in All-Around Ranking. He was the runner-up in the U.S. Open.

3. Adam Scott [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #14

Scott finished T23 at Oak Hill in 2003. He’s also finished T11 and solo seventh in the last two PGA Championships. In his last two starts of this season Scott has finished T3 in the Open Championship and T14 last week at Firestone. On Tour he ranks third in scoring average, 14th in total driving and 19th in All-Around Ranking. Scott won this year’s Masters, finished T45 in the U.S. Open and T3 in the British.

4. Brandt Snedeker [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #32

Snedeker missed the cut in two of the last three PGA Championships, but has played well in each major this season. He finished T6 in the Masters, T17 in the U.S. Open and T11 in the British. Snedeker ranks fourth in birdie average, ninth in scoring average and second in All-Around Ranking.

5. Henrik Stenson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #7

Stenson was sitting just outside the top-125 players worldwide this time a year ago. He has made very steady progress and is now among the hottest players on the planet. Stenson has scored three consecutive podium finishes and a top-10 in each of his last four worldwide starts. He’ll be playing the PGA Championship for the first time since 2011.

6. Justin Rose [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #13

Rose missed the cut at the British Open one month after winning the U.S. Open. He recorded a T3 in last year’s PGA Championship after missing three straight cuts. Rose also played at Oak Hill in 2003 and missed the cut there as well. He’s coming off a T17 at Firestone and is now second in total driving and seventh in All-Around Ranking.

7. Keegan Bradley [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #120

Bradley won the 2011 edition of the PGA Championship and finished T3 last year. His best finish in a major this season was a T15 showing at the British Open. Bradley is coming off a share of second last week at Firestone. He ranks third in both total driving and All-Around Ranking.

8. Lee Westwood [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #57

Westwood disappointed last week at Firestone with a T40, but has a top-15 in all three majors this season. He missed the cut at Oak Hill in 2003. Westwood is currently 13th in scoring average and 18th in total driving.

9. Charl Schwartzel [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #19

Schwartzel has played the PGA Championship each of the last nine years with four finishes of 22nd or better. He’s also been sound over his last five starts of 2013 finishing inside the top 25 each time out. Schwartzel ranks fourth in scoring average and fifth in birdie average.

10. Hunter Mahan [Yahoo Class C]

Mahan improved his majors resume this season with a T4 at the U.S. Open and a T9 in the British after missing the cut in the Masters. He left the RBC Canadian Open with the lead before the start of the third round after his wife gave birth two weeks early. Mahan understandably withdrew last week at Firestone, but has confirmed he will be returning to action at Oak Hill.

11. Rory McIlroy [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #3

McIlroy won last year’s PGA Championship following T3s in both 2009 and 2010. Last week’s T27 at Firestone marks his first top-40 since finishing T7 at THE PLAYERS Championship back in May. In between, McIlroy missed three cuts -- including at the British Open. McIlroy could be turning the corner, but is also dealing with a fully-loaded field.

12. Dustin Johnson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #1

Johnson followed up his share of second at the RBC Canadian Open with a T33 last week at Firestone. In the two most recent majors, D.J. only managed a solo 55th at the U.S. Open and a T32 in the British. Johnson is 19th in scoring average and 40th in All-Around Ranking.
