Golf Rankings for Hyundai Tournament of Champions

1. Matt Kuchar [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #15

Kuchar has made a pair of trips to the Plantation Course at Kapalua, Hawaii. He finished T6 in 2011 and was a solo third in the winners-only event back in 2010. For much of 2011 Kuchar was challenging for top-10s on a weekly basis, at least until the FedExCup. In the first three postseason events he finished outside of the top 30 each time but did score a T10 in the finale.

2. Steve Stricker [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #78

Stricker won this event last year and was the runner-up back in 2008. He also finished T4 in 2011 and T10 in 2010. Stricker almost never misses a cut and plays a somewhat limited schedule, so he needs to be rostered this week. Stricker has made less than 20 starts a year over the last three seasons.

3. Dustin Johnson [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #1

Johnson made three straight starts at Kapalua from 2009-11 and recorded an average finish of 12th. He ended last season on a hot streak with four consecutive top-10s. DJ qualified for this event by winning the FedEx St. Jude Classic.

4. Jason Dufner [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #34

Dufner was very impressive throughout 2012. He collected two wins and finished second FedEx Cup points over the regular season. Dufner ended the year fourth in scoring average, fifth in birdie average and seventh in greens in regulation percentage. Dufner was also third in both total driving and All-Around Ranking.

5. Brandt Snedeker [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #32

Snedeker won twice in 2012 and was outstanding in the postseason. After starting the FedEx Cup Playoffs with a runner-up performance he added a solo sixth. Snedeker struggled in the final two rounds of the third event but came right back to win the season finale.

6. Bubba Watson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #40

Watson ended the 2012 season with two top-fives and five finishes of 12th or better in the final eight contests. Bubba ranked first on Tour in driving distance, second in greens in regulation percentage, ninth in scoring average and 14th in All-Around Ranking. Watson has finished T18 and T25 the last two years at Kapalua.

7. Ian Poulter [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #84

A win during a recent tear on the European Tour has Poulter playing this event for the second time in his career. In 2011 he finished T6. Poulter’s second-half Tour highlights include a T9 in The Open Championship and T3 at the PGA Championship.

8. Webb Simpson [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #62

For much of 2012 Simpson failed to show the consistency that nearly won him in the FedEx Cup a year earlier. After hitting his low point, two straight missed cuts in May, Simpson reemerged with a victory in the U.S. Open. He ended his season with a T5 in the TOUR Championship.

9. Keegan Bradley [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #120

Bradley finished mid-pack in his Tournament of Champions debut a year ago. From January through March he placed 22nd or better in nine starts but saw his performance slide until winning the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in August and a T3 the following week in the PGA Championship.

10. Hunter Mahan [Yahoo Class C]

Mahan scored two wins, one coming in match play, during a span of four starts early in the 2012 season. Aside from four finishes top-20 finishes in five starts from late May through late July he was mostly unremarkable until ending the year with a T8 in the TOUR Championship.

11. Nick Watney [Yahoo Class C]

Watney was experiencing a forgettable 2012 until a stretch of five finishes inside the top 25 during the summer that got him into the playoffs. He would then kick off the FedEx Cup with a victory in The Barclays. Watney has made three scattered starts at Kapalua since 2008.

12. Zach Johnson [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #69

Johnson landed a pair of victories in 2012 and scored two top-15s at the end of the FedEx Cup. ZJ has only scored one top-10 in five trips to Kapalua, tied with Stricker for the most at this venue among those in the field this week.
