1. Matt Kuchar - World Ranking: #15

Kuchar was a mediocre performer at TPC Sawgrass for much of his career prior to his 2012 victory. Last year, he was T9 after two rounds but struggled over the weekend to finish T48. Simply put, Kuchar is a house of fire right now with finishes of T4, solo second, T5 and a victory at Harbour Town in his last four appearances.

2. Rory McIlroy - World Ranking: #3

Prior to finishing T8 at TPC Sawgrass last year, McIlroy missed the cut three times in four years. McIlroy comes in with three consecutive finishes inside the top 10, including last week's T8 at Quail Hollow. He's played a total of seven stroke play events this year worldwide with a pair of top-fives and six inside the top 10.

3. Adam Scott - World Ranking: #14

This week is Scott's first tournament in nearly a month; a T14 in his Masters title defense at Augusta. The native Australian is playing in just his seventh event of the year. He's yet to finish outside of the top 25 placing inside the top 15 five times. Scott has played TPC Sawgrass each of the last 12 years, winning back in 2004. The last two years have seen Scott T9 and T5 after two rounds prior to placing T19 and T15.

4. Henrik Stenson - World Ranking: #7

Stenson captured the 2009 edition of THE PLAYERS but missed the cut the following two years. He's reemerged over the last two seasons, however, placing T15 and T5. Stenson is coming off a T5 at the Volvo China Open to give him four finishes of 16th or better over his last five worldwide events.

5. Sergio Garcia - World Ranking: #5

Garcia won this even back in 2008 and placed T8 last year after owning the lead following the second and third rounds. Prior to missing the cut at the Masters, Sergio had placed T8 at the Honda Classic, T16 at Doral and solo third at the Shell Houston Open in his three previous starts.

6. Justin Rose - World Ranking: #13

Rose hasn't done much at TPC Sawgrass but is playing well right now. In 10 career starts he's missed six cuts with only one finish better than 39th. However, over his last three starts Rose has finished T14 at the Masters, T8 at TPC Louisiana and solo fifth last week at Quail Hollow.

7. Luke Donald - World Ranking: #82

Over the last three years at TPC Sawgrass, Donald has placed T4, solo sixth and T19. In 2013, Donald dropped from third to 16th in the worldwide standings but he's slowly bouncing back. Over his last six starts, Donald missed the cut in the Masters but scored three finishes of eighth or better, highlighted by a runner-up performance at Harbour Town.

8. Phil Mickelson - World Ranking: #24

Since winning THE PLAYERS back in 2007, Mickelson has only scored one top-20 and missed last year's cut. Phil has also been erratic lately while dealing with injury. Mickelson surprisingly missed the cut the Masters but finished T12 the week prior and T11 last week at Quail Hollow.

9. Jordan Spieth - World Ranking: #6

Spieth has never played TPC Sawgrass but isn't a player you worry about as a first timer anywhere. He's played in 11 stroke play events this year with three top-fives; highlighted by a share of second at Augusta, and eight top-20s while only missing two cuts.

10. J.B. Holmes - World Ranking: #50

Holmes has finished 18th or better in four straight tournaments and is coming off a victory last week at Quail Hollow. From 2007-11 he finished 16th or better all five times at TPC Sawgrass, including a pair of top-10s, but missed the cut in 2012.

11. Zach Johnson - World Ranking: #69

Johnson has been among the most consistent players at TPC Sawgrass in recent years. He's made five consecutive cuts since 2009 with four straight finishes of 22nd or better, highlighted by a share of second in 2012. After struggling in his pair of April starts, ZJ is coming off a T14 last week at Quail Hollow.

12. Bubba Watson - World Ranking: #40

Watson is coming off a victory at the Masters, his second win of the year. Bubba has yet to record a top 35 at TPC Sawgrass in six chances with three missed cuts. Back in 2012, Watson skipped THE PLAYERS altogether.
