Golf Rankings for Waste Management Phoenix Open

13. Billy Horschel [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #47

Horschel placed T11 in his TPC Scottsdale debut last year thanks to a sharp third round of play. This season he owns a top-25 in all three tournaments he’s played in.

14. Charley Hoffman [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #49

Hoffman has missed four cuts in seven tries at TPC Scottsdale, but is another player to consider based on his recent play. After placing inside the top 10 at the Humana Challenge, Hoffman scored a T7 last week at Torrey Pines.

15. Pat Perez [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #44

Signing an incorrect scorecard got Perez booted from TPC Scottsdale last year after the first round, ending a streak of three straight top-25s. He’s coming off a T2 at Torrey Pines, his second top-10 in three starts this year.

16. Hideki Matsuyama [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #2

Matsuyama is a first timer at TPC Scottsdale, but is a name you don’t want to forget. The youngster from Japan was mighty impressive last year in majors (and in limited action on the PGA Tour), but will see more stateside action this season. Matsuyama is coming off a T16 at Torrey Pines.

17. Brendan Steele [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #52

Sleeper alert. Steele has made three consecutive cuts at TPC Scottsdale, while placing T6 and T5 the last two years. He’s coming off a T28 last week at Torrey Pines.

18. Marc Leishman [Yahoo Class A] - World Ranking: #37

Leishman scored a top-20 at TPC Scottsdale in 2012, but missed last year’s cut. He is on quite the hot streak right now thanks to a solo fifth at the Sony Open and a share of second last week at Torrey Pines.

19. Matt Every [Yahoo Class C]

Every finished T9 at TPC Scottsdale last year, his first appearance at the site since another top-10 back in 2010. In his two starts of 2014 he placed T8 in the Sony Open and T13 in the Humana Challenge.

20. Hunter Mahan [Yahoo Class C]

Mahan won at TPC Scottsdale back in 2010 and placed T16 last year. He’ll be looking to improve over last week’s disappointing T47 at Torrey Pines.

21. Kevin Na [Yahoo Class B] - World Ranking: #64

Na owns a top-10 this season from the Sony Open and has put together some successful efforts at TPC Scottsdale. In eight career starts since 2005 he’s registered four top-fives, most recently in 2012.

22. Ben Crane [Yahoo Class C]

Crane has one top-10 in 2014 and has finished inside the top 20 in three straight starts at TPC Scottsdale. In 2012 he placed solo second, his best finish in the desert since a T4 back in 2008.

23. K.J. Choi [Yahoo Class B]

Choi placed T36 in this event last year, his first start at TPC Scottsdale since 2008. He opened 2014 with a T20 in the Sony Open and earned a share of second last week at Torrey Pines.

24. Scott Piercy [Yahoo Class C] - World Ranking: #63

Piercy has missed two straight cuts, but has a knack for TPC Scottsdale. Since 2009, he has registered three finishes of eighth or better in four appearances, highlighted by last year’s solo third.
