Week 2: Sleepers of the Week

These lesser-known players deserve to start this week due to matchup or other circumstances. This week's picks include Chad Henne, Kevin Kolb, Mark Sanchez, Joseph Addai, and Cedric Benson.

James Starks and the Green Bay Packers travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers in week two. The Packers opened the season saying that Ryan Grant would be their starting running back, but based on the amount of plays that Grant and Starks played in week one, Starks will be the better player going forward. Starks was on the field for 45 plays, while Grant only saw 16 snaps. Starks ran 57 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries against the Saints in week one, and should see a few more carries this week against the Panthers. If the Packers get out to a big early lead on Sunday they will ride Starks in the second half to kill off the game, making him an excellent RB 2 play in fantasy leagues this week. Fantasy owners can use Starks as a RB 2 or Flex play and can expect at least 80 total yards and one touchdown from the Packers young running back.

Jacoby Jones and the Houston Texans travel to Miami to face the Dolphins in week two. Jones has always been inconsistent, but will probably get the opportunity to start this week with Kevin Walter nursing an injured shoulder. Jones caught three passes for 43 yards in week one, but should be able to top those numbers this week against a Dolphins secondary that allowed more than 500 passing yards to Tom Brady and the Patriots in week one. The Dolphins secondary is not nearly as bad as they played on Monday night, but it is unlikely that they will be able to fix all of their issues during this short week. Fantasy owners looking for a sleeper wide receiver this week can start Jacoby Jones and can expect 70 receiving yards and a touchdown from the play-making receiver.
