Week 14: Sleepers

While we're not projecting starting type stats for these players, they have good potential and could surprise. This week's picks include Profiled players include Jay Cutler, Joe Flacco, Willis McGahee, Rashard Mendenhall, and Brian Hartline.

Going up against Darrelle Revis is enough for most fantasy owners to dismiss even the best receiver. This isn't the Revis many are expecting though. Over his last two games, the former Pittsburgh Panthers star has struggled, as have his seconary teammtates. Tampa has allowed five WR TDs since Week 11 (sixth-most) and nine since Week 9. Even Carolina's Ted Ginn and Brandon LaFell found some openings last week. This write-up shouldn't be all about Revis anyway. Johnson returned to action last week, catching five passes for 55 yards. Over his last five games, he has 48 targets. That's an elite total, but E.J. Manuel's inaccuracy and the Bills' instability at QB earlier in the year really hurts Johnson's upside. This feels like a great opportunity for Johnson to take advantage of a Bucs secondary that can't seem to get it together as of late.

Sometimes when making a lineup decision, it's not all about matchup, stats and figures. Bar and line graphs don't win fantasy football championships. Sometimes guys outperform the expectation. That's why they play the game, right? Miller is going up against San Francisco and their second-best fantasy defense against opposing TEs. In fact, the Niners have only given up one TE TD since Week 4 and to make matters worse, Miller was shut down against San Francisco back in Week 2. He only caught two passes for 22 yards in that contest. Here's where the gut feeling comes from though: Seattle is on a hot, buttered roll. Russell Wilson is banging on all cylinders. They're moving the pocket, getting guys in open spaces and Miller was the huge beneficary. He even snagged a 60-yard reception, the longest of his career. FFToolbox's projections don't have much faith in Miller this week, but they're playing the averages. They're trying to make the safe bet. I'm going by what I've seen on the field. If you watched the Seahawks dominate on Monday night, do you doubt anybody on that team?
