Week 2: Sleepers of the Week

These lesser-known players deserve to start this week due to matchup or other circumstances. This week's picks include Josh Freeman, Andrew Luck, BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Mark Ingram, and Alfred Morris.

Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers return home to take on the Detroit Lions in week two. The 49ers offense put up 30 points in week one, and will have a good chance to put up similar numbers in what could be a high scoring game against the Lions this week. Crabtree got off to a good start to the season, catching seven balls for 76 yards on a team high nine targets. Alex Smith looked comfortable looking to the former Texas Tech wide receiver on short to intermediate routes, and should start taking more chances down the field as the season progresses. Despite the off-season additions of Randy Moss and Mario Manningham, Crabtree still should see the most targets behind tight end Vernon Davis. Fantasy owners, especially in point per reception leagues, can start Michael Crabtree as a WR 3 and can expect five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in week two.

James Jones and the Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Bears at home in week two. Jones led the Packers with 81 receiving yards in week one, and with Greg Jennings in doubt for week two, Jones could be the favorite to lead the team in yards again this week. The Packers have too many weapons for Jones to be an every week starter in fantasy leagues, but this week should be a good one for Jones, especially if Jennings sits the game out. Jones has a history of mixed results against the Bears, but did catch two touchdowns in their final meeting of the 2011 season. Fantasy owners should monitor the Greg Jennings injury, and can start James Jones as a WR 3, and can expect at least 70 yards and a touchdown from the 28 year old wide receiver.
